Dineo Lekgothoane: The city of Cape Town

Cape Town City Hall, adapted from www.google.co.za

This is another kind of a space, which attracts its observers. The area is clean, and much more peaceful even when viewed from a long distance. The trees there adds some comfort as people are able to stop and rest, because they provide shade. The mountain behind adds to the natural part, making this city unique as compared to most parts of different cities in the world. The cars show how much people here closely related to the environment.

This city is a tourist attraction. Its environment keeps people flowing into it. The topography allows for all the activities occurring here. The road serves as the main path as people drive in and around the area.

  1. Samukelisiwe Makwakwa I like the fact that you are talking about how closely the people relate to the place, but what I would like to know is that what exactly is the relationship of those people and this area. Are the people there for work or leisure? Because that I think that can give us some sort of an idea of how the people relate to the space.Thank You.

  2. Dineo Lekgothoane:Pleople closely relate to this environment in both ways. The first group is the people who are working in this area. Some of them have the duty to keep the environment clean, whereas some of them work as intellects in the Cape Town Hall. There are a lot of occupations in the area including the taxi drivers who ensure that people get in and out of this place. This is their reason why the place is so important to them. It is because of their presence here that they are able to make a living.
On the other hand we have the next group who closely relate to this area as they use it for leisure. This people come into the area to relax and enjoy with their families and friends. These may also be tourists.
