Katlego I Pule 674426 - Gandi Square; Johannesburg: The Centre Of Attention
This plaza situated within the Johannesburg CBD, functions as a focal point for the city effectively. It's location for starters, is at the city's core where economic activity is present at an immense quantity, shops and business districts surround it. Also the amount of human activity that takes place, justifies further why this is the "centre of attention" of Johannesburg.
Referring to part of Lynch's elements of the city, the Gandi Square functions as a nodal access point. This is due to fact that people use it as gathering place; it contains a traffic circle; and it has a landmark statue of Mr Gandi himself. The combination of all these qualities makes it such an extraodinary space.
