Location
The trade route mall is situated in a Suburb called Lenasia.
In this region this is the only major shopping complex which makes it a perfect center of attraction for social as well as economic land use.
Analysis
The trade route mall is an urban space that relates to me in many ways. The fact that I live in the area makes it convenient to visit it whenever necessary, whether it is for leisure, relaxation, shopping or just passing time. It has a lot of famous chain stores with in the mall and this increases its use. People also use it as a landmark because it is one of the largest buildings in the area. This commercial center is located very close to the residential area and therefore most people are familiar with this shopping complex.
This urban space also has fast food chain stores on the entrance and exit points. It also has a petrol station on the exit.
Maryam- You said that the mall is located at the entrance of the suburb and this was strategically done,why is this so? I would think if the mall was strategically located in the center of Lenasia this would be more convenient for all the inhabitants to gain access to it. Its current location could make it difficult for potential customers,who can not afford to travel a long distance, to gain access to this mall as it is the only major mall in the area as you have stated.
ReplyDeleteAbdul- I would say that It was not placed in the center of Lenasia because, due to the presence of a mall in the middle of a residential area it would cause alot of problems such as traffic and so forth. Where as being placed on the "edge" of lenasia, it make it more strategically placed in order to cater for all the other sorrounding areas that also do not have a major shopping center. So in this way it is accesible to a larger market!
